One way we acquaint new volunteers with CVABE’s work in central Vermont communities is to conduct yearly Volunteer Orientation/Trainings in each of our six Learning Centers. The Volunteer Meeting is a forum for new as well as already established volunteers. All are invited to share their volunteer experiences, ask questions and voice concerns. After you are ‘matched’ with a student or group or volunteer task, newer volunteers will benefit from hearing about your experiences.
You are encouraged to attend any of these meetings in any of the learning centers whenever convenient for you. Feel free to bring a friend or relation who may be interested in volunteering at CVABE. It is always fun, stimulating, and refreshing to meet others who support CVABE’s mission to bring full literacy to our neighbors in Washington, Orange, and Lamoille counties. You are also encouraged to ask for additional meetings or trainings on specific topics as needs arise. We will make every effort to accommodate your training needs.
Monthly Staff Meetings
CVABE holds monthly in-services at the Barre Learning Center. Topics vary at these meetings and the Volunteer Coordinator will inform you of the meetings or portions of meetings which may be of interest to you. Please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 476-4588, if you have questions. We enjoy and value volunteer input!
